I received my copy of the hardback edition of LoGA yesterday which came all the way from Amazom.com in the US (I had a voucher from Google that I used towards payment and the book had only cost me £1 including shipping charges).
The one thing that I've found odd is that the pages look a little rough at the edges. Very uneven. Has anybody in the US got something similar, or do I have a dodgy print of the book?

I own the hardback edition too. I bought mine in France. I think the pages are supposed to look rough and uneven, to give it an old manuscript-like book. Mine's the same, so there isn't anything wrong with your copy :)

Oh, in Tom Tit Tot's name! I meant "old manuscript look", not "book"...

My copy of LoGA is like that as well, and I have a few other books done in the same style. Aesthetically I like it a lot, but I found that turning pages sometimes takes a couple tries.

That's just how the book is, as people have mentioned. I seem to recall someone saying that you used to have to slit the pages of a new book open like a letter -- not sure if that's true, but it would give them that rough edge.

Thanks everyone - that at least confirms that I've not gone mad and received a dodgy copy of the book (particularly as it came from the USA and who knows what the postal service either side of the Great Pond does to small packages).
