We've run out of ideas here in Surrey. All the good ones (The Duchess, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Brideshead Revisited, etc.) have just left distribution in our neck of the woods.

(Although not strictly on topic, I note that Dr. Horrible has just come to iTunes UK at the princely sum of £1.89 per act. Joy!)

I haven't been to the cinema in ages and the current offer of films here isn't very inviting.

I'd like to see "Brideshead Revisited", but not "The Duchess". I've seen the trailer, and laughed my heart out at Knightley's shouting. More like screeching...

I'd really like to see "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" because it looks like a film for music nerds. And I can't wait for the release of "Public Enemies" and "The Vintner's Luck" next year.

I have no idea what the distribution will be, but I'm pretty stoked about Repo! The Genetic Opera, with the unlikely combination of Sarah Brightman, Paris Hilton, and Buffy's own Anthony Head. It looks to be a sort of Sweeney Todd of the future except without the whole revenge tragedy thing. It looks pretty epic and actually just plain pretty. I believe it's coming out Nov 7.

Oh, I had forgot about Repo! The Genetic Opera. It sounds great. Kevin Ogilvie aka Nivek Ogre of the band Skinny Puppy is also in it, that should be reason enough to tolerate Paris Hilton :D

Have you seen the clip online of Zydrate Anatomy? I think she might actually be surprisingly good.

Yeah, I have. I don't know, she still seems a mediocre singer to me. And I'm sick of her "sexy" poses, that doesn't equal acting. Was Parker Posey unavailable? :D

I saw Repo tonight and I can tell you that not only does Paris Hilton have a really small role, but that's she's pretty good in it. I can also tell you that the whole movie is a very interesting piece of work and worth it for the art direction and Anthony Head alone.

Well, if you're trying to make me jealous, you succeeded ... I've been wanting to see it for a long time and it won't be showing in my country.

The film of Watchmen perhaps. I only recently read the book (after reading enough about it to know half the twists and the ending) but surprisingly* really really enjoyed it. With luck the film will be good.

* Surprising because its the first non-webcomic based graphic novel I enjoyed, neither League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or The Sandman worked for me.
