How many times have you read Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, and are you likely to replace your copy of the book because it's wearing out? :)

I just got the three-volume paperback set from US-Amazon. It's handier than the huge hardback. :)

I use the three volume one too. The first three times I read it, it was the hardback, I read the red paperback once, and I've read the three volume edition three times. It's in great condition, so I won't be replacing it any time soon.

So far it's probably about 4 times.

I have the big red paperback, which was second hand when I got it and is now pretty tatty.

I might get a hardback one day.
Especially if I see it in a charity shop.

:p Darlings!..I can't number the times I've read this book , between reading and listening to the audiobook (does that count ?)It's almost been an endless loop..I have read other books, but not as many as I intended to...often I pick something up and the quality of the writing is just not comparable, so it's back to Clarke for me (either JS&MN or LOGA )...Partly it's that life has been so erratic and crisis-filled the last two years , if I start something that's not quite up to snuff, I think.. " I can't waste my valuable reading time on this drivel! Where's my Childermass?'

I have my original HC , the handy dandy 3 volume edition and the audiobook..each one my precious !

I too have lost track of how many times I've actually read it--I've just picked up the three volume copy so I now have a lendable one, but I will probably dive into it after I finish John Connolly's The Book of Lost Things.

I'm on my second copy - I had the red paperback until that fell apart and then got the black hardback. Can't even say how many times I've read it; at least fifteen.

I have some catching up to do!

I only read it for the first time last autumn...
And that was a library book which had to go back.
I didn't get my own copy till early this year.

Three times so far for me. My first copy was an ex-prop -- a hardback that I purchased for $5 at the Shakespeare Theatre on my school's campus. I have a softcover now too, for easier portability and also because I'd like to keep my prop copy intact. That's also the one I use for sticky noting.

I chose 3-6 times, but it's definitely closer to six, if not more. I'm in the middle of a few other books, but I've dropped them for the moment in favour of another JS&MN reread!

I'm due for my third reading, after I finish reading the second book in the Stonewylde series as soon as I get my copy. I have, of course, also listened to it as an audio book.

I bought the Hungarian edition about a month before and I've just finished it the day before yesterday...I guess I'll re-read it during autumn when my living place is a bit similar to the places which are written in the book. And I really hope I won't have to replace it since I like this one I have now...it's like a friend :)

I'm on my simultaneous 6th and 7th rereadings, which does not count the one time that I have been through the audio book. I may go a month or two without reading it somewhere in the middle of the book, but every time I finish it, it seems like I start up again within a week or so.

I only have two copies: my hardcover whose jacket has been reinforced with packing tape and bears (among other things) the stain of a blueberry bagel I was eating when I read it the first time, and the paperback with the fairy road which, despite being smaller, somehow hasn't usurped the hardcover version's position as Principal Edition. This is probably because I make a lot of notes in terms of page number, and they don't carry over so well. (Clearly I need to note every hardcover page in my paperback copy! ;) )

I’ve read it fully twice, but I often go back and re-read certain chapters and trace storylines, particularly in the third book.

I answered 3 to 6 times, but that's a conservative estimate. I only have one copy (unlike most of you it seems! ;)) but I'm due for another as my big red one-volume is getting a bit worn out.

Oh dear...I'm so muddled I forgot that I had already replied to this thread! Must try to keep up in the future...

Five times in total, I think... and a few passages in it more often (I am not sure how often though).
Other than that, I have lent it out to various people telling them they should really read it, and I'd very much enjoy talking to them about it later :p
