I know this has been done before, but we can do it again.
Who are your favourite characters?
And why?
I like Childermass and Vinculus.
Especially on the same page.
I like Childermass because he's just so sarcastic with Norrell.
It's funny.
And also I once had a dream with him in it and he was making me bacon and eggs for breakfast.
How nice is that?
And I like Vinculus because he puzzles me.
He makes me laugh, which ought to be good enough on it's own, but I can't really figure him the way I can most of the rest of the characters.
He's a bit of a mystery is Vinculus.

My favorite characters are Childermass and Arabella.
I love Childermass's sly wit and ability to be himself despite the expectations of others. His interactions with the rest of the characters never ceased to amuse me, though the Lady Pole had a rather dreadful effect on him.
What I like about Arabella is that she is the distillation of the best traits of Jane Austen's female protagonists and I am endlessly entertained with the means in which she handles JS. Though I wish that she was rather more perceptive in the matter of TD, her reactions to his hospitality were a welcome contrast from those of the Lady Pole and Stephen Black.

Do you like Austen?
I've read them...
Which is probably the best I can say for most of them...
Nothing happens in them!

I enjoy her books for the character interactions and the general atmosphere, but I will admit that I more often watch the adaptations than reread her work. However, I generally do agree with Tom Brightwind's assessment of them, which is why I used it for my signature.

I've attached a homemade bumpersticker to my car: "Childermass, Vinculus, 2008." No one has remarked on it yet...

Mine is The Gentleman, hands down... I've been driving the good people here crazy just by ranting about how much I love him.
I love TD because he's a fairy, therefore very different from those boring humans. And I don't see him as evil. Fairies have a psychology of their own and do not have the notions of good and evil. In a way, they are like children.
I'd pack my bags to Lost-Hope any time... But not while boring Stephen reigns there! I'm waiting for a revolution to overthrow him first, hehe :D

He's brilliant, audacious, and honorable. And occasionally mad. What's not to love?

I will probably find myself in a minority of one, but I really liked Gilbert Norrell, I thought he was the best developed and I had the clearest mental image of him. He did make me laugh so much.
