According to this report dated the 18th July, 2008, New Line may not go ahead with adapting the other two films. Suits me fine, The Golden Compass is a perfect example of how not to take a good idea and...

I'm glad it's not happening. They really ruined "Northern Lights", imho, and doing what they did to "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass" would really really bug me.

The film has encouraged me to seek out the books, because quite frankly I couldn't sit through another mish-mash of mess that they came up with for TGC.

Ah, Segundus, I strongly recommend "His Dark Materials".

They get better as they go on, I find. But make sure you get a book with "Northern Lights" on the cover, as that's what Pullman wrote, not "The Golden Compass". Anyway, it's not a compass, it's an alethiometer. It just looks like a compass.
